Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth finally revealed that his running mate will be a female politician identified as Linnet Mirehane.

Though Ms Mirehane contested for the Dagoretti North parliamentary seat in 2013 on a URP ticket but lost to the incumbent MP, Simba Arati, details of her life remain unknown to many.

On March 27, 2015, she was appointed as a Non-Executive Director at the National Bank of Kenya (NBK).

At the bank, she has been the Chairperson of the Board Audit Committee of the Company, Member of the Board Credit & Remedial Committee and Member of the Board Risk Committee.

Apart from this, she has seven-year experience working with the Political and Civil Society. In this capacity, she worked with institutions like Constitution Reform Education Consortium (CRECO) and the Bureau for Development Services.

The mother of three holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Kenyatta University and has also attended various professional management and corporate governance capacity building courses.

She is a former Kilimani Ward Councilor and a civil society activist.

Before Kenneth settled on Mirehane, speculations were rife that the Jubilee Party would push Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko, to rally behind the 2013 Presidential aspirant.

However, Sonko rubbished the claims noting that he would be running for the seat himself adding that he could never step down for the former Gatanga MP.

Political pundits opined that it was a wise move for Kenneth to pick Mirehane following her great knowledge in the business sector, something that would help him manage Nairobi in case he wins the 2017 poll.

Mirehane has already been spotted campaigning vigorously with Kenneth in various areas around NAirobi.
