Kenyan Man hacks off wife's hands after she questioned him on sleeping out

The suspect had a tendency to sleep out of their matrimonial home from time to time.

A 21-year-old woman from Masagege village in Gucha South, Kisii County is nursing injuries at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital after her husband chopped off one of her hands following a domestic dispute.

The mother of one was attacked with a machete by her husband who tracked her down to her parents home where she had gone to seek sanctuary after a fight they had.

The victim alleged that Evans Kengere, the suspect had a tendency to sleep out of their matrimonial home from time to time.

He was irked when she questioned him over the habit and got violent prompting her to flee.

She disclosed that while in her parents house, Manyansa phoned her asking her to come out of the house.

The woman claimed that after leaving the house, a brief argument arose between them before the man unleashed a panga and descended on her, injuring her on the shoulder and right arm.

Stable condition

Dr. Geofrey Otomu, the Kisii County Director of Health Services said the victim was out of danger and responding well to treatment.

An uncle of the victim claimed the couple has been in a relationship for over six years until recently when the affair turned abusive.
