Raila issues new direction after meeting Wetangula

Just in

NASA leader Raila Odinga on Thursday gave senators two weeks to resolve the differences that have led to the ouster of Bungoma Senator  Moses Wetangula as Minority Leader in the Senate.

Odinga chaired a meeting between NASA senators and the Summit after the ouster of Wetangula and subsequent election of Siaya Senator James Orengo.

The meeting resolved that the issue would be sorted within two weeks after the senators went on a retreat to resolve the differences.

The embattled Bungoma Senator was also part of the crisis meeting.

The replacement was done on Tuesday despite a letter by Odinga, demanding for the NASA senate parliamentary group to spare the Bungoma Senator.

The NASA leader added that he had briefed the senators on the deal reached with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"Members of the NASA summit have endorsed 100% the MOU between President Uhuru and the People's President Raila Odinga. We have had a cordial discussion and we have briefed our senators. They have also briefed us on their issues at the Senate," Odinga stated.
