Raila cancels joint NASA rallies with Co-Principals

Allegations of mistrust have rocked the coalition since Raila's swearing in as the People's President.

NASA leader Raila Odinga has cancelled joint NASA rallies with co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.

The leaders were expected to campaign jointly together in Kitui County for Wiper candidate Edith Nyenze ahead of the Kitui West parliamentary by-elections slated for March 26.

According to sources, Odinga cancelled the planned scheduled rallies 'due to bad weather'.

The latest action by the ODM leader is likely to increase tension and further widen cracks within the coalition that has threatened to split the opposition.

The move comes days after an attempted coup in the Senate where ODM Senators ganged up to eject Wetangula as Senate Minority Leader and have him replaced by Siaya Senator James Orengo.

However, Musyoka and Mudavadi sent out a statement after the "Senate coup" where they declared their unwavering support for Wetangula.

Allegations of mistrust have rocked the coalition after Musyoka, Wetangula and Mudavadi skipped Odinga's self-swearing in at Uhuru Park on January 31st.

The rising tensions were compounded further when Odinga went ahead and met with President Uhuru Kenyatta behind his co-principal's backs and initiated unity talks.
