An early morning fire on Monday gutted down the busy Githurai furniture market near Riflo Industries, destroying property worth millions of shillings.
In a Tweet, Kenya Red Cross stated that it had sent its response team on the ground to help fight the fire.

The cause of the said fire is yet to be established with no causalities reported so far.
A snarl-up had been reported along Thika Superhighway following the fire incident. Motorists were advised to use an alternative route.
