Trouble for Matiang'i after NASA's decision

Crisis is looming after the announcement.

NASA led by Lugari MP Ayub Savula has declared that they will reject Education CS Fred Matiangi in parliament if he is appointed in the same docket by President

Speaking in Eldoret on Sunday, Savula claimed that Matiang'i had destroyed the education sector in the country through hurried reforms.

"Matiangi is overplaying things in a way to make Kenyans think he is the best but he is a disaster. He should not head the education ministry."

"There has been an unnecessary rush by the CS on exams and other reforms. These are messing up the lives of our children," Savula stated.

KCSE Results

He said that the KCSE results should be recalled and audited after the mass failure witnessed.

At the same time, NASA leader Raila Odinga expressed concern over the same.

In this year's KCSE results, only 70,073 students managed to attain a C+ and above, which is required for a university entry.

"We registered 142 straight As this year, compared to 141 As in 2016. However, the number of A minus has reduced from 4,645 in 2016 to 2,714 in 2017. The students who have met University entry requirements has reduced to 70,073 students from 88,929 in 2016,” Matiang’isaid while releasing the results.
