This is why.

The USA has shut down its Resource Centre in their embassy in Kenya following the government shut down currently ongoing.

In a notice issued on Monday the embassy stated that the centre shall remain closed until further notice.

The centre is a vital source of information for people who want to learn more about the US.

The shut down happens when the president and Congress fail to pass legislation for funding government operations and agencies.

This shut down occurred due to the failure of the involved parties to meet a Friday midnight deadline on a spending bill.

This will cause thousands of workers to report to work as from Monday.

The Embassy's Resource Centre requires membership which is free.

It is done by filling an online membership form and includes free Wi-Fi, eLibraryUSA, eGranary, thousands of books, magazines and videos.
