Jubilee MPs warn the party over Raila

Jubilee warned to treat Raila with caution

A section of Jubilee party members of parliament have sounded an alarm warning the party over the recent unity between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition boss Raila Odinga.

Led by Kapenguria legislator Samwel Moroto, the leaders warned that Odinga could not be trusted and his engagement with Jubilee end up splitting the party.

The leaders who were speaking at an event in Chesumei on Friday disclosed that the party should not risk trusting Odinga as he has proved to be politically unpredictable.

His stand was supported by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei who cautioned the party on Odinga’s choice to work with the Jubilee administration.

According to the Senator, Odinga’s cooperation with the government must entail supporting Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 Presidential bid.

While many hailed the Raila-Uhuru unity, terming it good for the country, a section of Jubilee politicians received the news with mixed feelings with some expressing concern that it would complicate things for Ruto in his 2022 bid to succeed President Kenyatta.

Among those who have expressed caution include Jackson Mandago and Ngunjiri Wambugu who opined that the development would alter the political scene and place Odinga right at the centre of the 2022 succession politics.
