Pumwani MCA Paul Ndungu has threatened to release screenshots that could implicate Governor Mike Sonko and his county public service board in a tribalism scandal.
The Pumwani ward representative claims that the screenshots prove that some of Sonko's senior officials used tribalism to effect demotions and promotions at the Nairobi City County Inspectorate Department.
"I have facts including screenshots and I was not joking when I put the question before members at the county assembly," Ndung'u said when he appeared before the Nairobi county assembly Labour and Social Welfare committee.
Mugumoini MCA Jared Akama reiterated Ndungu's sentiments adding that the unfair demotions and promotions amounted to victimization based on their ethnic identity.

Kikuyus and Kalenjins
A list released from the department indicated that Kikuyus and Kalenjins had the lion's share of appointments with six other language communities sharing what was left from the 35 slots.

14 senior officers were from the Kikuyu tribe, Kalenjins had 6, Kisiis were 5, Luos were 3, Kamba, Luhya and Maasai communities had 2 officers each and there was a single Somali.
Defending the adminstration, Nairobi chief security compliance officer Tito Kilonzi dismissed the claims by Ndung'u saying that the MCA had misunderstood a common practice of the county administration.
"As far as we are concerned, none of our officers have been demoted to a junior position. We are aware that people have misinterpreted the redeployment of senior staff to mean demotion, which it isn't," Kilonzi stated.
Governor Sonko was on Tuesday lauded by EACC for running an administration with a significant improvement in integrity.
