Opposition leader Raila Odinga has joined the family of Kenya’s independence hero Ramogi Achieng Oneko in mourning the death of Mama Loyce Anyango.
Taking to Twitter, Raila condoled with the family in a post that read:
“My Condolences to the family of the late Achieng Oneko on the passing on of Mama Loyce Anyango. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May her soul Rest In Eternal Peace.”
Loice passed on twelve years after she was widowed following the death of Achieng Oneko in 2007.

Details about her death remain scanty with reports indicating that plans are underway to give her a befitting send off in Rarieda Constituency.
Oneko one of the six freedom fighters, famously called Kapenguria 6who were arrested and held at Kapenguria prison.

He was appointed to serve as the Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Tourism shortly after independence.
His last stint in parliament was in 1992 when he won the Rarieda parliamentary seat on a Ford-Kenya party ticket.
