Deputy President William Ruto on Friday graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Nairobi.
The 60th graduation ceremony received more attention than usual as three other high profile individuals also graduated from the institution.
A hash tag #DrWilliamRuto begun to trend on Twitter as members of the public shared their congratulatory messages as well as interesting thoughts on the DP's new accolade.

DP Ruto's Trifecta
Dr Ruto was celebrating more than just his graduation on Friday, he was also celebrating his 52nd birthday and 27th wedding anniversary.
The DP was accompanied by his wife Rachel Ruto for the graduation ceremony where he took his place among his fellow graduands as the degrees were conferred.
President Uhuru Kenyatta also attended the UoN graduation and was among the first to congratulate the DP as soon as he was awarded his PhD.
Other national leaders who also graduated on Friday are Supreme Court judge and Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu, Meru Senator Mithika Linturi and Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa.
