Players around the world, Kenya included, are free to create posts on social media but they should be very careful with what they post.

In many occasions, Kenyan footballers and sportsmen at large, have made statements on social media which have not been received positively by their fans and/or stakeholders.

This is because either the posts are vulgar, insulting, grammatically incorrect or simply don’t make sense. However, all have not faced serious penalties or been in a situation which Chelsea winger Robert Kenedy is currently experiencing.

Over the weekend, the Brazilian, who was part of Chelsea team in their China pre-season tour, made a statement on his Instagram which clearly offended China forcing both the English club and him to apologize to the nation although the damage had already been done.

He has since been sent back to United Kingdom and could face further penalties by the club.

Below are the two posts which cost him the China stay; “Porra China” - or “F*****g China” in Portuguese.

The second post showed an apparently slumbering security guard leaning against a wall with the word “Acorda china Vacilao” - “Wake up China Lazy.”
