Former Kenya 7s coach Mike Friday is set to make a return to Kenya this November ahead of the Safaricom Sevens.

Friday's USA side have been invited for the event and eventually this will see a return of the coach who took Kenya to their best placed rankings in Sevens' circuit.

The USA Sevens confirms participation only a month after the country withdrew its team for the World Under-18 Championships planned for July 12-16 at Kasarani owing to security fears.

The Safari Sevens will be held at the RFUEA Grounds and not Safaricom Stadium Kasarani as has been in the past few years.

The Safaricom sevens is one of the biggest rugby events in the country apart from the Kenya cup and the Kenya Championships.

Safaricom Sevens return to RFUEA for the first time since 2010. The event was moved to the Nyayo National Stadium for the 2011 and 2012 championships before being relocated to the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

KRU chairman Richard Omwela said they have been forced to relocate to Ngong Road since the venues at Kasarani and Nyayo will be closed for renovations ahead of the African Nations Championships (Chan).
