Hongkou stadium, the home ground of Chinese Super League clubside Shanghai Shenhua, has been damaged by a fire.

There were however no casualties reported after the incident on Tuesday morning.

The club, managed by ex-Brighton manager Gus Poyet, had signed former Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez last year in a deal reported to be worth £40 million (about N20 billion).

Other ex-Premier League players in their squad are Demba Ba and Obafemi Martins.
