Hafthor Bjrnsson is, after all, currently <a href="https://www.menshealth.com/trending-news/a28066873/worlds-strongest-man-martins-licis/" id="94979fb5-31e5-3d11-a73c-679b99497681"> the World's third Strongest Man </a> , after ceding the number one spot he held after winning for the first time in 2018. We also know he's <a href="https://www.menshealth.com/trending-news/a24068319/game-of-thrones-hafthor-julius-bjornsson-wedding/" id="6fec481a-461a-3728-aaff-f14972055e1f"> married to the delightful Kesley Hansen </a> , a Canadian, who relative to her husband is just about pocket-sized. But don't let the height differential think Hansen isn't strong on her own.

In a new <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdxrtXrlB9I" id="b539d5a1-1fbf-31d3-af6e-6b0662540ccb"> video posted to Bjornasson's YouTube </a> page, Mrs. Mountain holds her own hauling an idling Dodge Ram pickup. (No lightweight aluminum F-150s for this crew). Towards the end of the 20-minute long video that plays like a day in the life of the Bjrnsson-Hansens, where lifting weights and towing big rigs with your body surrounded by family and friends and small children on scooters is the norm, Hansen takes her turn at the feat of strength. After a leg day workout, no less.

And she executes the maneuver pretty damn well, according to Men's Health fitness director Ebenzer Samuel, C.S.C.S. "In general, there's not a lot of 'form' in a truck pull. Mostly because it's, well, insanely heavy," he says. "When you move max max weight with any lift, your body defaults to the most natural movement patterns for you. For people that have practiced proper form at lighter weights and have trained out any compensation patterns, that's going to be perfect form. For a lot of people, though, it'll be bad form execution."

Samuel also notes that Hansen maintains pretty admirable form throughout the pull. One of the benefits when your partner is also a world class weight lifter.

"Her back stays flat as she does this; she's not rounding." But the takeaway tip here is all in the hips: "Watch how she keeps trying to drive and power her hips forward. That's the power of the glutes right there."

Apparently, that leg day workout was just a warmup. The Mountain might want to look outif Hansen keeps it up, she might be able to top him when it comes to pound for pound strength.

Erik Allen and Sasha Koehn of Buck Mason have been thinking about it for three years and counting.

When you spend three years thinking about a T-shirt like they have, you realize that a T-shirt, the perfect one, is the sum of its parts. Its a result of adding elements that each requires its own devoted time and thought, coming together to create a mans wearable security blanket. That is, if youre lucky enough to have found one. The hunt for the perfect T-shirt is as enduring as the perfect T-shirt itself.

Koehn and Allen started Buck Mason in a garage in Venice, California, in 2013, putting together mens wardrobe basics in a subscription-box service. When their T-shirt vendor couldnt fulfill their orders on time, they went to make one themselves. They pulled from their own closets and broke down what made each of their favorite tees, in its own way, perfect.

It Took Three Years to Perfect This T-Shirt

They took an architects approach: learning how to make their own patterns, retooling the tee almost weekly, fine-tuning their dream T-shirt. They went through 52 variations of the tee before they were pretty happy with what they were producing. Though they still make tweaks here and there.

That addition and perfection of elements over three years included casing the fabric barons of downtown L.A. to find the perfect slub cottonit has consistent inconsistency, says Allen. They landed on a midweight fabricabout 155 grams per square meter, just heavy enough to be suitable for year-round wear. Its made of a tense yarn thats knit loosely enough so that by the 20th wash, it feels better than when you first put it on.

It included fussing with an armhole that at first was dropped too low. So Koehn and Allen reshaped it, but they kept the proportions the same so you have better mobility without losing the slimming effect around the arm.

It included designing and testing the shirt on different body types within a size, so the tee looks as good on a barrel-chested kind of double-XL guy as it does on a big-bellied, skinny-fat kind of double-XL guy.

One of the trickier elements they tweaked was the hem. They added a slight curve to it, like your best dress shirts have. I had found a lot of men faced a similar dilemma: You go out and you go through a month and maybe you drink a couple too many beers, you gain ten pounds, Allen explains. When youre carrying just a little extra weight, the curved hem helps. Its just a better shape. And if youre really fit, you look great. Another element was the neck binding. The Buck Mason guys were resolute about securing one that was thick, and of the same fabric as the T-shirt itself. Not a cheap, three-eighths-inch-wide piece of ribbing like you usually see, even on $50 tees. Doing so meant seeking out more-skilled (read: expensive) sewing operators.

The most important element? The price. They try to manufacture the tee as much as they can in the U.S.A. and keep it at $32. Its a play between economy of scale and unwavering ambition regarding quality and value. The perfect T-shirt can be a luxury, even if its not a luxury item.

Men's Health Associate Fitness Editor Brett Williams notes that, "this is a full-body circuit workout meant to be performed to exhaustion, so Hemsworth and Zocchi are using this for conditioning as much as they are to build strength. In the first four moves, there's some rest built in since they're moving from full or upper body to lower body movements, but the pacing will still make it hard. This isn't something for the Average Joe to walk into the gym to take on."

Chris Hemsworth’s New Workout Will Make You Want to Puke

It was fun. I'd get to work and get a workout in under the same token. I could combine two inconvenient but necessary things into one, and imbue it all with the smug superiority of having thought to do so. It just took some minor logistical planning: find a gym near the office to shower and change at, stash shoes at the office, and get a decent pack I could wear while running.

When my little pack finally gave out, and the waist and chest straps frayed, I gave up the run commute. At least I did until I got my hands on Eddie Bauer's Butter Pack 16L.

As part of the outdoor brand's First Ascent line, it was made with serious input from trekking and climbing guides to meet the needs of a minimalist ascent pack. Turns out those needs match those of a desk jockey in New York trying to jog his four miles to the office: Lightweight (just 11.25 ounces), ample room and divided storage (including a vertical phone pocket that's easily accessible even when you're wearing the pack), and secure-stay-in place straps around the pack itself to keep your stuff from jostling around your back along with chest and waist belts that don't ride up.

Not much more is known about the actual horse playing the beloved horse. The actor took the post-holiday time to turn in a massive upper body, push-pull pump that can serve as a lesson in big-time workout structure. Replete in an extra-long version of <a href="https://www.menshealth.com/fitness/a27960800/the-rock-dick-towel/" id="488d85bb-765e-35ab-aea8-52a4b1598717"> his now (in?)famous dick towel </a> , The Rock wrote that he posted the workout as a tribute and metaphor for <a href="https://www.menshealth.com/entertainment/a26026877/everything-we-know-about-hobbs-and-shaw-fast-and-furious-the-rock/" id="edcaf823-93e4-3da7-ab43-bc8bccb34148"> his upcoming movie Hobbs and Shaw </a> .

All told, that's four tough chest and back exercises finished in roughly the same amount of time it takes your slowest buddy to cycle through one set of bench press-which means you wouldn't want to take on this workout lightly. Men's Health Fitness Director Ebenezer Samuel advises that this "is something you would only do if, say you were you were working off an upper/lower split (Day 1 train upper body, Day 2 train lower body). It's pretty intense."

While the rest of us were idly falling asleep on the couch on July 5th while recovering from the hot dogs and beers of the day before, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was in the gym. Of course.

As a barber, Im right there with you.It can be just as nerve-racking for us when a new client sits in our chair. Weve never cut this guy before; we dont know what he likes, or what he envisions, or the weird things that his hair does when its clipped a millimeter of an inch too short. To be a better customer-so we can do a better job, so you can leave with the best haircut-you only need to communicate a few simple things.

Walk in ready to talk about your hair, and talk about it effectively.

For barbers, an overly fussy client is better than an uncertain one, for a simple reason: decisiveness. So please talk to your barber when he asks, What are we doing for you today? I understand how it can feel weird describing yourself and your hair and how, aesthetically, youd like that all to turn out. Most of us get a little uneasy thinking, let alone speaking, about the nature of our looks and our hopes and dreams for them.

Recognize that barbers are like fingerprints.

Or snowflakes. Or penguin mating calls. The point is: Were unique. You can walk into a spot and, because it seems cool online, think youre going to come out looking like Clooney. But even in that shop, there might be one barber whos a relative novice, just getting started in the business, while another is a long-serving stylist who cut his teeth in the salon world and may own it with a pair of shears but isnt necessarily as trustworthy with the clippers. Or you get a guy who came up in the old-school shops and chops your lettuce like youve just been drafted, or hes a wizard with the clippers but might start sweating when your hair is longer than four inches. And there is always a barber who can do it all but never developed the people skills and so comes off as disaffected or uninterested.

If youve got a long John Kerry face and pull up a pic of Gatsby-era Leo DiCaprio, were going to be spending 15 minutes politely dancing around the fact that your head and face and hair cant do the things you want them to. A fruitful source of reference photos is a Google search of pro soccer players. You saw the World Cup. There are a ton of those guys with all kinds of haircuts. You can find one whos got a head shape and hair type similar to yours. But the smartest move is to take a selfie when you feel like your own hair is looking its best. We can get you back to that moment.

If youve got a giant whorl hiding under a bunch of heavy hair and we cut it too short, no one is going to be happy. Warn us, and understand theres only so much we can do. Like the grain in wood, your hair tendto grow and fall in a natural direction. As much as you may want to swoop things to the left, if your hair insists on going right, embrace it.

Depending on the length of your haircut, you can usually make it three weeks (for shorter styles) to six weeks (longer styles) before you need to visit me again. The general rule (and a sales tactic on the barbers part) says that as soon as youre not feeling as good as when you left the shop after your last cut, youre due.

Because a Caesar cut in Topeka can vary an inch or two in length from a Caesar cut in the Bronx. The right terms that work in any shop:

High, mid, or low fade: This refers to how high above the ear the shortest part of the fade will extend before graduating in length. The higher the fade, the more severe the transition.

Skin fade: The sides of your head start at shaved (the lowest setting on your barbers clippers), with the length gradually increasing as you go up. If you want to start with more length, ask for a guard (see below) and for him to fade up from there.

The lower the number of the guard, the shorter the hair.

One: One-eighth of an inch of hair is left on your head-which is down to just that sandpaper feeling.

Three: Three-eighths of an inch of hair is left on your head. Usually what the barber will use if you ask for short, but not too short.

Connected (or blended): The length on the sides blends smoothly into the top where your head begins to round off.

Disconnected: The sides are shaved or faded without any blending into the length up top, creating a drastic overhang of longer hair. If you like to sweep hair to the side or back and have a little more length to play with near the front, ask for just a slight disconnection.

Tapered, natural, or faded: All interchangeable ways of saying you want the hair to gradually get shorter down the nape of your neck. Preferred for shorter cuts.

Square: Good for longer cuts. The length at your nape is squared off and stays only as short as the rest of the hair on the sides.

Rounded: Like a square neck but the corners of the neck line are lopped off for a more traditional, preppy look.

What A Barber Thinks When You Sit in His Chair

Say you're new to town. Or your regular guy has retired. Or youre traveling and in desperate need of a cut. Or youre suffering from the kind of malaise that only a straight razor to the back of your neck and the hum of clippers can fix. Whatever the reason, youre in the market for a new barber. A scary prospect, I know. Finding a place, let alone a guy, that understands exactly what you want and can deliver it is an endeavor fraught with miscommunication and differing expectations.

As the actor, who's playing infamous Fox News executive Roger Ailes in Showtime's new series The Loudest Voice in the room, told Howard Stern, "I bought it for my kids, and you know, cut myself a little bit of slack here, there was a bunch of vodka involved in the transaction and it happened at <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/19/entertainment/leonardo-dicaprio-brad-pitt-poster/index.html" id="998543b3-3595-3c7b-a73a-a09962f17cf2"> Leonardo's house </a> ." According to Crowe, back in 2008 or 2009 when his kids were really into dinosaurs, they'd been drinking at DiCaprio's when Crowe admired a Mosasaur skull that Leo was looking to unload TO MAKE ROOM FOR ANOTHER FOSSIL. So, The Gladiator star took it off his hands.

Ever get a little to into the sauce during a dinner on a business trip and wind up spending too much money at the Times Square Disney store on Incredibles stuffed toys to bring home to the kids ? And when you check your debit card balance when you get home you realize that it was a kind of stupid thing to do? But the kids love the toys, so, I guess you just call it a happy wash?

When you check out the post, you'll notice the same big shoulders, same massive arms, and the same beat up Kansas City Chiefs hat that Superman sports in most of his gym posts. What's different here is the weight Cavill is hoisting in his curl. Those low-profile dumbbells look to be a lot smaller than what those guns could easily carry. Unless they're secretly lined with kryptonite, it's tough for the casual observer to understand why such an unimpressive pic warrants the share.

But as the star points out, and Men's Health fitness director Ebenezer Samuel affirms, sometimes smaller weights can yield bigger results.

Samuel agrees. "You dont need to train heavy to get jacked," he says. "A biceps curl thats actually driven by the biceps with strict form with 25 or 30 pound weights (which is what it looks like Cavill is using) is going to grow your arms way more effectively than a sloppy curl with 40 or 50 pound weights that are driven by a rock at the waist. It's amazing to watch who we know to be an incredibly fit actor struggle through a few reps. Since Efron can't put weight on the joint, he can't lift. So to work the muscles around his new tendon, the blood flow restriction machine creates an environment similar to having it loaded with weight.

It's a smart idea. "I got out of the Marines in 2006. The first symptom I could recognize was having a nightmare where Im in the middle of a firefight in Iraq and I roll over to dodge an RPG round. Id wake up rolling out of bed. Over the next few years, more symptoms came on. Physically, I wasnt taking care of myself. I wasnt motivated. I went to the doctor saying Im tired all of the time; I think I have mono. She was like, Have you talked to somebody about depression? I wasnt addressing the real problems."

"I kept replaying a traumatic event, October 15, 2005, when Sergeant Mark Adams was killed. I didnt know how much that was the root of my stress. In 2008, Id try to fall asleep and Id hear the kid laughing right before the bomb blew up. The scene played in my head over and over again. I walked into the Ocean County Veterans Service Bureau office in New Jersey and said I need to talk to somebody right now."

"I had no idea what I was getting into. I hadnt seen a counselor before. The second appointment, my psychologist took me outside and we did laps around the building. About 30 minutes in, he stops and asks, 'How many times did you stop and look over your shoulder?' I could only remember doing it once or twice. He was keeping a tally and it was in the 40s. It was the way I was trained; I was infantry. I thought I was so self-aware-of myself, my actions-and here I was looking over my shoulder 40 times in the last 30 minutes. That was when I thought, Holy crap, this is gonna go somewhere."

The latest edition of gym time follows another video from Efron, about his recovery from knee surgery after tearing his ACL during a ski accident back in February. Without the flash of an NFL star and instead accompanied by a stoic physical therapist, we watch Efron strugglethrough the smallest of movements as he works to gain back his strength. It's a testament to just how much work goes into physical recovery, even when the gains seem smallest, so you can go back out to trying to keep up with Pro-Bowlers.

Pauly D's show hasn't even actually premiered yet, and he's already breaking hearts. The Jersey Shore DJ's co-star, Vinny Guadagnino posted a sneak-peek clip of the duo's new reality dating series "Double Shot at Love" on Instagram this afternoon to raz Pauly for causing some early-in-the game weeping.
