The principal of Mawaka Secondary School,Mr Christopher Maisiba came face to face with the Teachers Service Commission boss Nancy Macharia on Monday while totally drunk.

Mr.Maisiba had turned up to collect the Kenya National Examination Papers (KCSE) papers at the Gilgil deputy county commissioner’s office only to be surprised by Ms Macharia's presence. The TSC boss had gone to inspect the opening of an exam container at the office.

The principal, in drunken stupor, seemed unapologetic and even engaged the Ms. Macharia in a verbal exchange. He appeared not shaken by the interrogation, occasionally smiling sheepishly.

The teacher was angered when Ms Macharia asked him why he reported to work while under the influence of alcohol.

“Bwana (Mr), how do you manage the examination in your school with this kind of behaviour?" posed Ms Macharia.

Mr Maisiba replied: ''I am not drunk as my colleagues are saying. I only woke up late and came hurriedly to pick the exam papers."

The teacher appeared disorderly even as he struggled to control the power of alcohol over him.

Nakuru County Commissioner Joshua Nkanatha ordered for his arrest as Ms Macharia vowed to teach the principal a lesson.
