Speaking during a press conference in his home country, Malema stated that Kenya was but a ‘colony’ of the United States and that there is no ‘total independence’ in Kenya since the US still controls a huge chunk of what happens here.

“Kenya, of course, is a something different, I don’t think there is a total independence there… America has got a huge interest in that arrangement of Kenya.

“But everywhere else in the continent we need to start doing away with those things,” said Malema.

Malema remarks come just two days after President Uhuru Kenyatta met US President Donald Trump in Washington and witnessed investment deals worth $238 million signed between the two countries.

President Kenyatta termed his meeting with President Trump a big success, saying it cemented a relationship that was already strong between Kenya and the US.

Early this year, Donald Trump referred to African countries as ‘shitholes’ deeply offending Africans and the world at large.

This is not the first time however, the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader has criticised African countries, he also recently hit out at Kenya and Zimbabwe over their judges insistence on wearing the colonial ‘white wigs’ saying it resembles the hair of white people.

"Does it mean you can only think when you wear a wig that looks like the hair of white people? You're actually wearing white brains. The reason you think properly is because of that wig according to colonialism," he stated.

“Revolutionists allow that to continue in Zimbabwe, they allow that to continue in Kenya…,” he observed.
