8 more people test positive for Coronavirus – Health CS Mutahi Kagwe

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has announced that eight more people have tested positive for coronavirus bringing the total number to fifteen.

Addressing the press , Mutahi said that the eight were five Kenyans and three foreign Nationals.

"We continue to monitor the 7 initial patients who are stable. In the last 72 hours, we have received confirmation of another 8 cases who have tested positive for Coronavirus bringing the number to 15. 5 are Kenyans, 2 are French and 1 Mexican.

"All international flights are suspended effective Wed 25 midnight except cargo flights.Those coming into the country between now & Wed will undergo quarantine at their cost at a gov’t facility. Countries wishing to evacuate nationals must do so within this period," CS Kagwe announced.

CS Kagwe added that they had been isolated at various facilities and are being monitored. The State is also searching for 363 people who came into contact with the patients.

All the eight are imported cases from Europe and America, their ages are between 20 for the youngest and 56 years for the oldest.
