Uhuru to miss Presidential Debate

The Jubilee party has announced that its Presidential candidate and current Head of State, Uhuru Kenyatta, will not be at the Presidential Debates scheduled  for July, 2017.

Jubilee Party Vice Chairman David Murathe stated that the team had not been consulted.

Speaking on the matter Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju noted that: "We just see advertisements in the media. We do not know the organisers. We have not been contacted or told what the ground rules are".

He rubbished the debate stating: "The president won’t attend a debate that smells of conmanship".

The Presidential debate has been organised by Kenyan media houses.

According the Debates Media Limited Committee, there will be two Presidential debates: July 10 and 24 while another one involving the running mates on July 17.

All these debates are set to be held at Catholic University of East Africa, Karen.
