Did 15 teenage boys contract rabies after gang raping a donkey?
Here is the truth
According to an article by The Sun UK that has since gone viral, 15 boys in the rural town of Sidi Kamel in Morocco have been admitted at the Mechraa Belksiri Hospital for a week following a rabies infection after they gang raped a local donkey infected with rabies.
There were reports that the family of the young boys are in ‘distress and horror’ following the incident that has become a hot topic in the village.
Other parents have resorted to taking their kids for vaccination in case they came into contact with the donkey that has since been euthanized.
Local authorities have been ordered to find anyone who “approached” and “admired” the donkey and treat them to avoid the risk of rabies spreading among the villagers.
The question is did the boys really get rabies from the donkey? Well, it is possible if the donkey bit all 15 of them as rabies is not a Sexually Transmitted Disease. It’s usually transmitted by the bite of an infected animal or through contact with the saliva of a rabid animal through cuts or scratches on the skin.
So its highly unlikely that the 15 boys got a Sexually transmitted disease from a donkey.
