Man kills his relative over Sh 200 electricity bill

The suspect reportedly attacked the deceased and used an iron rod to hit him

A man has allegedly killed his relative after a feud over an electricity bill. Police arrested Jude Oke for killing a 56-year-old man, identified as Chi Buma over a Sh 200 electricity bill.

The incident happened at the suspect’s home town. The suspect refused to pay his energy bill which led to the disconnection of his line.

Angered by the disconnection of his electricity line, the suspect reportedly attacked the deceased and used an iron rod to hit him.

The police boss stated that the deceased was the chairman of his village and member of his community task force on electricity.

He added that the deceased died of injuries sustained from an assault on him by the suspect.

Confessed

The police stated that the suspect had confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court.

“The victim died of injury sustained after an assault on him. The suspect has confessed to the crime and would soon be charged to court,” he said.
