Make tumbukiza like an expert
If you haven’t tried making tumbukiza yet, this is the time to try it out and share the delicacy with your family. Tumbukiza is easy to make and is also known to be an effective yet natural way to deal with hangover.

Let’s get to the recipe straight away, shall we?
1kg beef cut into large chunks
5 large potatoes 2 large carrots cut in large pieces
3 green bell peppers (pilipili hoho) cut into four
3 garlic cloves
I large onion
4 ripe tomatoes cut into halves
3 huge stalks of spinach (don’t cut them)
Salt to taste
Clean and put your cut meat in a pan and place on fire. Remember you are not supposed to put oil. Keep stirring to prevent burning and cover it.
Let it cook under low heat for like 15 minutes. You could add very little water to prevent burning before adding potatoes. The potatoes should preferable be in whole size or simply cut into two. After adding the potatoes, don’t stir. Just cover and let them simmer until the potatoes are almost cooked.
When the potatoes are almost cooked, you could add more water, salt to taste and let them boil for around 4 minutes. Then, add the onions, garlic, carrots, tomatoes and all the other vegetables you had ready and cover to simmer for 6 minutes.
After that, your beef tumbukiza should be ready to be served with ugali, rice or chapati.
Remember that you could also use mutton instead of beef and cabbage leaves in the place of spinach.
