She failed to produce the letter from Kisii University where she previously worked as the campus director.

According to The Star, this caused a delay of about one and a half hours.

This forced Florence to call the University for Them to send the vital document by email.

County returning officer Moses Sunkuli warned her that she will be automatically locked out.

“Our regulations are clear that one should have resigned from public service by February 9," Sunkuli said.

Sunkuli then gave Florence an hour to submit the letter.

“You were scheduled to appear before us on Tuesday but you did not show up. We could have cleared this mess early,” he said.

Florence was eventually cleared after the university sent the document by email an hour later.

She did not give her supporters an explanation for the delay which she described as a "slight hitch".

She later thanked the commission for giving her a chance to get the document.
