Organizers of the fourth edition of the Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB), in a statement to newsrooms, have outlined that the two-day event has been canceled until the last rites for Governor Laboso are performed.
Dr Laboso had served as the institution's vice chairperson until her demise.
"We regret any inconvenience caused to our various stakeholders by these untimely changes. We stand in solidarity with the family and the nation," the statement signed by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya read in part.

The bloc, which is made up of 14 county bosses, further took the chance to acknowledge the good work the deceased governor had put into its operations.
"LREB family has lost a leader whose devotion and commitment towards transforming the lives in the region will remain historic.
"Through this conference, she managed to help the bloc set its agenda and our national political leaders to focus on national development and cohesion.
"It is our prayer that the Lord grants her family, the people of Bomet, the LREB counties and the Nation at large, the strength to overcome the emotions," the statement continued.
