2 gunmen arrested as members of the public foil kidnapping attempt along Moi Avenue[video]

The kidnap victim had just made cash withdrawal from an ATM in the city centre

The female victim had just withdrawn cash from an ATM along Moi Avenue in Mombasa when she was accosted by the gun wielding gang as she headed back to her car.

The gang forced her into an escape car and began speeding off before hitting a tuk-tuk and stopping.

Irate members of the public moved who witnessed the ordeal moved in swiftly and forced the armed men out of the car, rescuing the woman from what could have been a horrifying experience in the hands of kidnappers.

Police arrived on time and saved the gangsters from the angry public.

Two male suspects were taken in for questioning by the police while their female accomplice managed to escape and is still at large.

Mombasa police boss Johnstone Ipara confirmed the incident, stating that police are investigating the incident.
