NASA reveals what will happen immediately after New Year

The announcement came after US sent a message to NASA leader Raila Odinga.

ODM director of communications, Philip Etale, disclosed that the activities had been put on hold until after the festive period is over.

"People's Assembly activities resume after the FESTIVE SEASON," Etale tweeted.

The Opposition had unveiled a committee of 7 people to lead and provide a roadmap of how the People's Assembly will operate in the counties that had passed the motion.

“Arrangements for the constitutive session of the People's Assembly on December 12, 2017, where the Kenyan people will, among other things install the leadership and unveil a roadmap to electoral justice and the rule of law are very advanced and a detailed programme shall be released by the NASA leadership in due course,” the committee said after it's establishment.

Githu Muigai

However, Attorney General Githu Muigai and Government spokesman Eric Kiraithe warned that the institutions are illegal.

“Parliament has not delegated any such power and the consequence for that is that those institutions are unconstitutional, illegal and are null and void,” Muigai stated.

"MCAs in some counties are wasting public resources, debating and passing motions not supported by the constitution," he told a press conference on Thursday.

"You can sit anywhere with your friends and declare yourself the Pope as long as you're not using public resources," the Government spokesman said.

11 counties have passed the controversial motion which are perceived to be NASA strongholds.

They include, Kilifi, Mombasa,Kwale  Busia, Siaya, Kakamega, Vihiga, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori and Makueni.
