Babu Owino requests to be appointed to the ‘Cabinet’

Babu Owino requests for 'Ministry of Internal Security'

Owino noted that once given the position, he would go for Fred Matiang’i.

Matiang'i spearheaded reforms in the education sector and took over the Ministry of Internal Security following the death of Joseph Nkaissery.

He was addressing thousands of opposition supporters who turned up for an opposition rally in Ruaraka.

The vocal legislator also took a moment to remind Matiang’i of his predecessors who held the powerful seat but are now deceased.

His request comes a few days after opposition chief Raila Odinga ‘swore himself in as the people’s president’ at a controversial ceremony held at Uhuru Park.

He stated that he was ready to face arrest by state security agencies and urged the government to construct a cell in his home.

Other speakers at the event also took a swipe at the Jubilee administration for the manner in which it handled Raila Odinga’s ‘swearing-in’.

Security agencies have carried out numerous arrests targeting opposition politicians who took part in the event.

Those who have so far been guests of the state include Miguna Miguna, T.J Kajwang and George Aladwa.
