Babu Owino wears ridiculous hat to show solidarity with Jaguar

Hats off to Embakasi East MP Babu Owino

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino wears ridiculous hat to show solidarity with Starehe MP Charles Njagua alias Jaguar

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino on Friday wore a Chinese straw hat to the Milimani Law Courts where his Starehe counterpart Charles Njagua alias Jaguar was set to appear in court.

The hat was a satirical tribute to the xenophobia charges that are being held against musician turned MP Njagua.

"I hate Chinese. I must say that what MP Njagua said was just a paraphrase of what CS Matiang'i said that the Chinese should be deported.

"Indeed we will be raising the issue at the floor of the House because Chinese traders should not be engaged in small scale businesses in Kenya. Kenyans are not doing small scale trading in China!

"I hear the Chinese nowadays are speaking Luo, they are speaking Kikuyu and Kalenjin so we don't quite know what these people's interests are!" the legislator exclaimed.

Release Jaguar, there's no reason to detain him - Babu Owino

Babu further opposed the ruling of the court that denied MP Njagua his bail application sending him to stay in police cells for a week.

"There are no compelling reasons why Jaguar should be detained for three working days in addition to the two weekend days. If this case has no witnesses, where are police going to get witnesses from and nobody has recorded a statement?" the legislator posed.

The MP decried the manner in which the MP was arrested lamenting that more politicians were being "arrested like chicken" an occurrence he said would not be tolerated.
