Sonko's ministers and aides reveal embarrassing events in his office

Details of chaos at Sonko’s office

An expose by Sunday Nation on the governor’s office has revealed a worrying trend with some disclosing that the governor frequently drunk and sipping glasses of Cognac during important meetings.

The glass of whiskey is often camouflaged by a package of apple juice close by, making it difficult for outsiders to tell that he is in fact enjoying his whisky.

Multiple sources alleged that the governor thrives in chaos and does not keep a diary leading to clashes in schedule with chaos and congestion constantly witnessed at the corridors of his office at City Hall as people troupe in as early as 5AM.

An aide who did not wish to be named for fear of reprisal disclosed that “He has no regard for procedure, process or protocol. He does what he wants, when he wants, how he wants it and with whom he wants it.”

County employees in his office are living in constant fear of losing their jobs with the governor constantly accusing them of working with his political distractors even when they have sensitive and credible intelligence to pass to Sonko.

A top official disclosed that “Nobody is safe here, you never know when you will be fired…we are under constant surveillance, there are CCTV cameras in our offices, our phones are tapped, there are spies all over us, whether in office or out there in the bar,”

Multiple sources revealed that governor quickly loses concentration during important meetings, frequently checking in to Facebook , Whatsapp and making calls.

It has since emerged that there is no privacy in Sonko’s office with his confidantes all over the place even when the governor is in a meeting with guests and the Cabinet.

According to the expose, Sonko has allowed political allies and power brokers to intimidate county employees and run the affairs of the county, pointing to a poor management style.

Former Kamukunji MP Simon Mbugua who is regarded as the power behind the throne at City Hall is one such frequent visitor whose role at City Hall came into focus with some linking him to the resignation of Polycarp Igathe.

Efforts to have the governor come clean on these allegations were futile as both calls and messages went unanswered.
