Telecommunications Company Safaricom has launched a tournament for girls and boys marking the return of Sakata Ball competition albeit under a new name.

In 2010 and 2011, Sakata Ball was the brand name with The Safaricom Soccer Challenge, Live the Dream being the tagline before the tourney was cancelled in 2012.

Five years later, the competition has returned under ‘Chapa dimba na Safaricom’ banner with Twaweza as the tagline. Harambee Stars captain and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama is the tourney’s brand ambassador.

Age bracket for the edition has also been slightly changed to cover boys and girls between 16 and 20 years contrary to Sakata Ball’s 17 to 23 bracket.
