Former African Player of the Year Victor Ikpeba has made a bold prediction concerning Arsenal Football Club for the 2022/23 English Premier League season.
Ikpeba gives major reason why Arsenal will fumble Top 4 again this season
Despite Arsenal's good start so far, Ikpeba tipped Tottenham Hotspur to finish in 4th position ahead of the Gunners
The Super Eagles legend stated that he expects Antonio Conte's Tottenham Hotspur to beat Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal team to the final spot in the Premier League Top 4 standings.
Despite Arsenal currently being second with six (6) points from two games, Ikpeba believes the Gunners will still fail to qualify for the Champions League like in previous years.
Arsenal lack continuity - Ikpeba
The former Monaco star while making his Top 4 predictions for the 2022/23 season picked Pep Guardiola's Manchester City to emerge champions again while Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur were projected to make up the rest of the Top 4.
While speaking on SuperSport's Monday Night Football show as reported by allnigeriasoccer, Ikpeba put down Arsenal's likely failure to an expected lack of continuity and sustaining their current momentum.
Ikpeba said: "My top four are Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs. I love Arsenal but I'm not sure I think... That continuity, that momentum to do the job and end the season, they don't have it.
Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool better Arsenal - Ikpeba
Ikpeba acknowledged that the Gunners got a good signing in former Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus.
However, the former Nigerian international still believes that the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham have better squad depth than the Gunners while Liverpool are simply a better side when in top form.
"Gabriel Jesus coming to Arsenal? Jesus is a massive asset. City lost it bringing Jesus to Arsenal but I don't think... I think those top four have…," Ikpeba said.
"Look at Spurs, they have so much depth, Chelsea have so much depth, Liverpool have their injury worries but when these teams are in top form, I don't see Arsenal making the top four."
Arsenal have won their first two games in the Premier League this season, seeing off Crystal Palace 2-0 on the opening weekend and edging Leicester City 4-2 on Matchday 2.
The Gunners will face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, August 20 as they hope to continue their 100% start to the season.
