Gor Mahia humiliates AFC Leopards at Nyayo

AFC Leopards were absent in the game

In a clash that Leopards barely turned up for the opening half, conceding from Meddie Kagere and George Odhiambo, their second half was no different as Timothy Otieno sealed the comfortable derby victory for Gor Mahia.

Whereas Ingwe started off with former Gor Mahia Paul Kiongera leading the line alongside Gilbert Fiamenyo, Coach Marcelo Ferreira slight tweaking his team that saw George Blackbery Ochiambo and Timothy Otieno handed rare start proved pivotal in the tactical duel.

The pair took their roles in strides with the latter was at centre of the K’Ogalo’s opener as BlackBery provided the second goal.

Otieno set up Meddie Kagere for a 20th minute opener as he lobbed keeper Ian Otieno with the Rwandese start steering from close range.

The visitors continued their dominance heading to the half hour as Leopards struggled to keep on possession at Gor’s territory.

A listless performance as Leopards battled to impose themselves with attacking pair of Giilbert Fiamenyo and Paul Kiongera being frustrated by a high-line employed by Gor rear guard.

Gor mahia, who managed to pip their rivals in almost all flanks, had Odhiambo pulling out injured moments to the end of the first half as their main concern.
