Finally Harambee stars striker unveiled at his new club in China

The Kenyan forward was acquired from Swedish side Djurgardens IF for a record fee of € 4.2 million in January 2017. He confirmed the news through his official Facebook page, expressing his eagerness to play.

"Happy to be presented at my club Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng FC. Clock ticking, stage has been set, its’ now time to deliver. I pray to the Lord for HIS protection, guidance and goodness,’’ he posted.

Olunga will be hopeful of game time this weekend in Guizhou’s fourth match of the season. The club is currently 11th on the log with two points.

Since Olunga joined the Chinese Super League there has been presence of mixed reactions among Kenyan football fans.

A good a number of fans have thrown their weight in the move arguing that Olunga made a wrong decision joining Guizhou Zhicheng side in China.

But according to him, his move will not affect him whatsoever and whatever people say he is committed to take his career to a new height, pointing out that there is so much quality in the Chinese League.

“I think I cannot decide my life on what other people think. When I made my move to China everyone counted me out but I believe now is the right time. I just keep on working hard and soon everyone will see,” said Olunga.

Olunga scored the only goal for Harambee Stars during their friendly match against Uganda Cranes at the Kenyatta Stadium.
