“Guizhou Zhicheng FC hope the African player will integrate with the team as soon as possible and show his mettle, intrepidity and fighting spirit to the team,” the club said in a statement.
Olunga, Gor Mahia’s top goal scorer with 19 goals in 2015, joined the Swedish outfit in February last year in a Sh16.7 million deal.
Olunga went on to have a successful stint in Sweden where he was a fans’ favourite.
He managed to score an impressive 12 goals in his debut season at Djurgardens IF where he was the club’s top goal scorer which earned him a fifth place in the Allsvenskan top scorer chart.
Olunga was also nominated for newcomer of the year in Swedish football by a jury of Allsvenskan coaches and Swedish journalists as well as the coaches of the Swedish national teams.
Olunga becomes the latest addition in a growing list of star players and coaches who have headed to the lucrative Chinese Super League.
Others include former Chelsea players Graziano Pelle, Demba Ba, Obafemi Martins, Time Cahill and former Chelsea players Oscar, Ramires, John Mikel Obi and top Argentina striker Carlos Tevez.
