The team that enjoys the soil of Nzoia Sugar Company will be facing their brothers from another mother, AFC Leopards over the weekend at Kenyatta stadium from 2pm.

The match has ignited excitement among fans of AFC Leopards and Nzoia Sugar United on social media as to who will be the king of Western region.

Nzoia started off well after trashing defending champions Tusker Fc 5-2 in their opening match before they harvested a barren draw against Mathare United in the second match.

According to Nzoia Coach he has watched AFC Leopards play before and witnessed a high level of fitness that has been brought in by new players.

“We will employ our tried and tested strategy. Which is to attack. Changing tact at this point considering we have young players could spoil our rhythm,” said Mwalala.

Coach Bernard Mwalala was a former ply of a SC Villa (Uganda), Yanga (Tanzania), Rayon Sport (Rwanda) and PDRM (Malaysia).

“I watched their (Leopards) game against Nakumatt. They have high fitness levels with new players. We are looking to unsettle them.” Mwalala said

Edwin Wafula and Luke Namanda are set to miss the action at Machakos due to injuries. The duo had scored during the Tusker match and therefore their absence in the Nzoia squad will be a blow to Mwalala.

“It is a similar issue for both players. They twisted their ankles during our last league match (against Mathare United). I expect them to be out for two weeks minimum,”  deputyconfirmed the coach.

Leopards have also made a fine start under new coach Stewart Hall, thrashing newcomers Nakumatt 3-0 before the international break.
