In an exclusive interview with P Live, the administrator thanked his boys for going past Singida United, a team he terms as ‘difficult’ explaining that newly promoted teams usually trouble bigwigs in any competition.

He has decided to leave behind their dismal league performance back at home to focus on the tournament with the aim of lifting the trophy.

“First, I have to thank the boys for beating Singida (United) to qualify for the semifinals where we’ll play Yanga and we are hoping that we will beat Yanga to go to the finals.”

For him, Yanga is beatable and is the only ‘thing’ which stands between Ingwe and the glory.

“I saw Yanga playing yesterday (Monday) and I can say that it is not a strong team; AFC Leopards will beat them on Thursday. I’m sure Leopards are going to win the semifinals and end up in the finals. We want to win the cup and the prize money.”

He also used the opportunity to assure the club’s fans that all is well and that with a new coach in place, the tournament is AFC Leopards’ to lose.

“The team is well prepared, our new coach (Dorian Marin) came in yesterday so we are prepared to win this cup.”

In other semifinal match, Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia will play against their compatriots Nakuru AllStars in search of the final slot.
