With head coach Ze Maria away in Brazil for holiday, assistant coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno will take charge minus key players, who will be engaged in national duties.

He has now been forced to give fringe players time in the tournament with Francis Kahata, Innocent Wafula, Meddie Kagere and George Odhiambo being the regular names.

K’Ogalo are in group A of the tournament alongside other Kenyan sides AFC Leopards, Tusker and National Super League outfit Nakuru AllStars.

They will compete against Tanzanian sides Yanga, Simba, Singinda United and Jang’ombe, who are in group B.

Full squad: Fredrick Odhiambo, Shaban Odhoji, Wellington Ochieng, Francis Kahata, Amos Nondi, Joash Onyango,Innocent Wafula, Bernard Odhiambo, Jeconiah Uyoga, John Ndirangu, Medie Kagere, Maqbul Abdul, George Odhiambo, Teddy Osok, Anthony Mbugua, Oliver Maloba, Philemon Otieno and Mike Simiyu.
