Gor Mahia striker Meddie Kagere has asserted that his side was to beat Jang’ombe Boys by a wider margin in the SportPesa Super Cup quarterfinal match played on Tuesday at the Uhuru Stadium, Tanzania.

The Ugandan-born Rwandan player scored twice for K’Ogalo to book semifinal slot and while speaking to P Live after the match, he rued missed chances in the counter.

He explained that the Green Army were to score three goals in the first-half in addition to the two which were realized on the second stanza.

“I always thank God for what happened (scoring two goals in the second-half) because you see in the first-half, I got like three chances but I didn’t utilize them. The team was supposed to have three goals in the first half but we didn’t utilize the open chances; so in the second-half, we had to make sure that we use every opportunity since even a half a chance was crucial for us.”

Gor Mahia will now face another Kenyan side Nakuru AllStars, who knocked out Tanzanian giants Simba in another quarterfinal.
