In a post-match interview with P Live, chairman Isaac Kones explained that his team had prepared adequately for the match and that a win was guaranteed.

“First of all I would like to thank my boys for the good work they have done. I expected this result (beating Simba) going by our preparations.

About Gor Mahia match, he said that Nakuru AllStars will ‘definitely’ beat the Green Army to stand a chance of hitting their target which is to lift the trophy in its inaugural edition.

“It will be a tough match but I know we will beat Gor Mahia we have beaten them before and this time we are also going to work hard and make sure that we beat them again. We came here for the title.”

On the other hand, goalkeeper trainer Evans Omondi, who was on his knees in prayers during the shootouts, revealed his reasons for praying asserting that Nakuru AllStars will walk all the way to the final match.

“I thank God so much; we came from Kenya as underdogs and they (Simba) expected to beat us like by eight goals but when we set foot to the pitch we realized that they had nothing to show.

“I was telling God that he has guided us all the way from Kenya to Tanzania and that we could not walk home empty handed so I thank Him because He has granted us the win.

“We are meeting our fellow Kenyans Gor Mahia in the semifinals; we will just treat them the way we treated Simba. We don’t fear them.”

The semifinal match will be played on Thursday at the same venue; Uhuru Stadium.
