Kenyan Premier League defending champions Tusker have been docked three points by the league’s Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee (IDCC).

The Brewers have been found guilty of an offense from a match they played against newbies Zoo Kericho on 10th May 2017 at Kericho Green Stadium.

The body has found out that the George Nsimbe coached outfit fielded players without valid FKF cards contrary to what the law says.

As a result, KPL has now confirmed the verdict, which awards Zoo Kericho two (2) goals and three (3) points, on their official portal. “It is beyond conjecture that Tusker FC did not comply with the rules regarding presentation of valid FKF Cards,” IDCC said in its ruling.

“Rule 3.5 (g) of the Rules of Kenyan Football provides inter alia that the referee and assistant referees must inspect and confirm that the players have valid FKF cards. Rule 3.5(h) states that ‘every player must present their FKF card to the referee before kickoff of every match. It is thus clear that fielding of a player without a valid FKF card renders such player(s) ineligible players.”

Tusker now have 29 points, falling behind Sofapaka to occupy position four on the log.
