Former K24 news anchor recounts how she lost her Sister in Tragic Road accident

"The fateful day still gives me Nightmares"

According to the beautiful TV personality, the encounters of that night still gives her nightmares when she remembers that the life of her beloved sister was taken by a drunk driver.

Ms Karimi describes the November 29 incident, as the most difficult month and day has she still have the nightmares of the fateful day.

“November 29 has and will be the most difficult month and day. I still have nightmares of this fateful day. The night a drunk young man took the life of my only sister” remembered Karen Karimi via her social media.

She added that she lost her sister at a time that she was turning 28, and 11years after she had lost her father.

The late Ruth Wangeci Knaust (Karen’s sister) died after a road accident that happened along Valley Road.

According to reports, a drunk driver veered off his lane and rammed head on into Ruth’s car. She was rushed to the ICU but efforts to save her life were futile as she succumbed to the injuries.

Ruth and her two sisters, Karen and Vaishali had just attended Eric Omondi’s Untamedshow at the Bomas of Kenya on Saturday before the tragedy. Ruth, a mother of two is said to have left the venue at around 11 p.m in the company of her two sisters.

Ruth was a vocal activist and human rights campaigner. She is best known for the ‘My Dress My Choice Campaign.
