Were Kenyans robbed? See how much Ugandans will pay for Tekno's concert

The prices have Kenyans crying foul.

Because in most of these concerts even people who pay 10,000 for VIP access rarely enjoy the perks of V.I.P because sometimes they are busy pushing and shoving to pay their tickets or to get in despite the organizers promising fast tracked access. Or some of the promises such as bottle service and ample space are not kept.

In an article that has now gone viral Mwende Ngao complains of the glaring mediocrity when it comes to Kenyan concerts and writes “We need to demand quality from event organizers. I would gladly pay for VIP for concerts but from experience, it’s usually a complete rip-off. We are already being overcharged for tickets especially if you compare with what our neighbours are paying for similar concerts, and it’s unacceptable that we cannot even get the basics right.”

And looking at Tekno’s upcoming concert with Mr Eazie it’s clear that Ugandans are paying much less compared to their Kenyan counterparts though some are arguing that we are paying more due to our ‘stronger’ currency and the higher cost of rental space, the set up and equipment.

On 15 September Tekno and Mr Eazi will be live in concert at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in an event dubbed “Naija, Ghana to Kampala” .The concert is organized by Bell Lager in partnership with Elvis Sekyanzi of the Silk Events Empire and Ali Alibhai of Talent Africa.

Tickets prices will be:

Early Bird Ticket- 25,000 UShs which is 713 Kshs

Gate-35,000 UShs which is about 999 Kshs
