Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi has introduced new features to KCSE and KCPE exams meant to curb cheating and enhance security.

Unlike in the past where candidates were required to write their names on answer sheets, this will no longer be the case.For the first time in the country, 1,003,556 registered KCPE candidates will have their names and photographs already printed in the answer sheets when they enter the examination room.

This will eliminate chances of candidates hiring impostors to do exams for them and make it easier to confirm their identities and whether they match with the photos on the papers. "For the first time in the KCPE examinations, multiple choice answer sheets will contain personalised details," Matiang'i stated.On the other hand, 615,773 candidates registered for KCSE will not be provided with booklets as has been the norm.According to education officials, who spoke to a local daily, adequate space will be provided For the candidates in the question papers to provide answers.

Dr Matiang'i had announced that KCPE exams would be between 1st to 3rd November while KCSE between October 23rd and November 29.
