Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko’s supporters were on Wednesday crashed at Muthurwa market in a nasty accident.

The two men died on the spot after smashing their heads on the Muthurwa foot bridge.

According to reports, the duo was among Sonko’s supporters being ferried from Jubilee headquarters in Pangani to the town centre in a lorry.

They were standing at the back of the lorry and crashed their heads on the bridge when the lorry went under it.

The supporters had gone to witness Sonko being handed the party's nomination certificate by deputy William Ruto.

During the meeting held at Jubilee headquarter DP Ruto also endorsed Vivo Energy Kenya Polycarp Igathe as the Senator's running mate in the August 8 poll.

Addressing the press Igathe mentioned that he had left his job at Vivo.

"I have left a job at the private sector for politics, we can no longer leave Nairobi in the hands of clueless people," Mr Igathe stated.
