The Tanzanian government through its regulatory body Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa (BASATA) recently stopped Diamondâs bag. This was after they banned Diamond and Rayvanny from performing in and out of Tanzania indefinitely as Wasafi Festival comes to a close .
The ban came following the performance of their banned hit single âMwanzaâ at the Wasafi Festival in Mwanza City on Sunday, 16th December 2018.

The Music Regulatory Board popular known as BASATA also threatened to sue Diamond if he performs in Kenya. The âMwanzaâ hitmaker had been scheduled to perform in Embu on December 24, Wasafi Festival in Mombasa 26th and on New Yearâs Eve in Nairobi.

Following the threats issued by BASATA, Diamond has been forced to beg for forgiveness in a poignant video on Instagram.

Mwanza Song
The song was banned from being played on any TV and Radio stations in Tanzania or being performed in concerts hours after its release. The song was outlawed on grounds that it didnât meet the required moral threshold for public consumption due to its raunchy lyrics.
Despite the ban, the song is wild-popular and now stands at 5,637,810 views on Youtube about a month after its release.
