A senior Police boss has been arrested by detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), in Kisumu on bribery allegations.
Kombewa Police Station OCS, Senior Sergeant Kennedy Saina was arrested on Tuesday evening for allegedly demanding a Sh20, 000 bribe to free a suspect in custody for defilement.
A report by the Daily Nation said that the suspect’s brother had complained of interference with investigations into the sex crime.

According to Western Region EACC boss Ben Murei, who confirmed the arrest, a report was made to his office and his officers set a trap for the OCS.
“A report was made and my officers set a trap and arrested the officer using treated money worth Sh10, 000,” said Murei.
Mr Murei disclosed that the suspect was booked at Kisumu Central Police Station before he was released on cash bail.
He will appear in Court on September 7, where he will be charged with soliciting a bribe.
