Kenya has suspended flights to, and from Somalia, with immediate effect.

This comes just a few days after the two countries were reported to have mended diplomatic ties.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority in a notice to Airmen said the suspension will remain in effect for the next three months.

KCAA noted that they had received a directive from the government to suspend air travel between Kenya and Somalia over security concerns.

With the directive getting into effect immediately, only medical and humanitarian aid flights will be allowed to operate.

Flights from Somalia using the Kenyan airspace to other destinations will also be exempted from the new directive.

This comes barely a week after Presidents of the two countries committed to restore diplomatic ties following an agreement that was brokered by Qatar.

Somalia had accused Kenya of meddling in it's Politics, leading to a diplomatic row that lasted over six months.

It just slowly slipped away...Only later did I get to know that what I went through was called Postpartum Depression.

Then in 2013, I got pregnant again. Oh I was elated! I hoped and prayed that it was a girl. I was almost sure it was, so I named her Atis. But then at 3 months, I noticed abnormal spotting and my heart just sunk. The doctor confirmed it and I went in for an evacuation 2 days later. That was a sad period for me. Sometimes I sit and imagine she'd be 8 years now...

Soy MP, Caleb Kositany is now claiming that he was offered Sh500,000 to vote for the <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/list-of-national-assembly-mps-who-voted-no-for-bbi-bill-constitution-amendment-2020/070svhy">Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Bill</a> but he declined.

Speaking on Monday, the legislator alleged that he heard reports that some MPs were paid to pass the Bill, but he could only confirm that he was approached with Sh500,000 which he turned down because his conscience could not allow him to take it.

“I’m not sure, I also heard that there was money, but one thing I can confirm is that I was given an offer that I am premium I would not be given Sh100,000, my price was Sh500,000 of which I declined because that amount with my conscience would not allow…. I don’t know whether others were offered,” said Kositany.

Asked by who by Citizen TV’s Sam Gituku who offered him the money, the Soy MP said, “That one would remain a secret” insisting that the presenter should be satisfied with his answer.

“You have asked me a question I have answered you should be satisfied with what I have said,” responded Caleb Kositany.

His allegations come a few days after the Tanga Tanga side suffered a blow, after a section of legislators allied to them opted to vote for the BBI which was passed by more than two thirds majority in the National Assembly, in all readings.

While responding to Blogger Edgar Obare, the comedian said the samples were taken and the results should be out in two weeks.

She also revealed that Hamo had agreed to pay school fees for their first born and had already given the required amount, which she has paid to the school.

Jemutai added that they are still trying to sort out their issues, with the help of Churchill and other individuals she did not mention.

“Yes, that was me, Hamo and his brother we were at Big Square on Wednesday. We met on Monday with Churchill and a few guys to try and sort out issues. We are still sorting out issues. He also directed the Senate Committee on National Security, Defense and Foreign Relations to find out why the senator was arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

“This is very serious and because of the gravity of the matter and what has been requested, I am suspending the house for 30 minutes, during which time I will use to find out what has happened and even after we find out, I would want to direct the committee on National Security to get into this matter and find out as a deterrent, so that this does not happen again to any member of this house,” said the Speaker as he adjourned the sitting.

Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru is up in celebration, after the National Assembly voted overwhelmingly to pass the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) draft Bill.

Taking to Twitter, Waiguru said that parliament passing the Bill by 73 percent means that the BBI speaks for itself.

“235 votes for BBI, against 83 ... a whooping 73%.... as the lawyers say, Res ipsa loquitur - The thing speaks for itself... <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/BBIbill?src=hashtag_click">#BBIbill</a>,” wrote the Governor.

The Bill won the approval of a majority of the members of parliament (MPs) in both the Second Reading and Third Reading.

At the Second Reading 320 MPs voted where 235 voted "YES" and 83 voted "NO", while in the Third Reading, 224 MPs approved the Bill while 63 voted to reject the bill.

A section of legislators allied to Deputy President William Ruto also voted in support of the Bill.

In a Gazette Notice dated May 5th, the day will be used to mark Idd-ul-Fitr.

Five people lost their lives while several others were seriously injured following a road accident in Mariakani, along the Kilifi-Mombasa highway.

The accident that occurred on Thursday involved a trailer and a hearse which collided head on, leaving two people dead on the spot.

According to area Police Boss, Ezekiel Chepkwony, three others succumbed to injuries at the Mariakani hospital.

The hearse was carrying mourners from Kitui where they had attended a funeral when the accident occurred.

Those injured were rushed to Mariakani hospital where they are receiving treatment.

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and his Nakuru counterpart Susan Kihika will be among the 11 senators in the Senate Committee set to probe the impeachment of Wajir Governor, Mohamed Abdi Mohamud.

The Committee will be chaired by Senator Okong’o Omogeni while Susan Kihika will be the Vice Chair and will probe the allegations against the governor, and present a report to parliament.

Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria has offered to pay Juja residents Sh5,000 if they can send him photos of Government officials giving money to voters.

In a statement seen by Pulse Live, Kuria called on the people of Juja to send him pictures of Sub-chiefs, Chief and Deputy County Commissioners who are allegedly bribing voters on behalf of Jubilee Candidate.

According to the Gatundu MP, each photo will attract a price of Sh5,000.

“To the good people of Juja, kindly take photos of the Subchiefs, Chiefs and DCCs who are dishing money on behalf of the Jubilee candidate. I will pay Ksh 5,000 per photo. Send to me via WhatsApp. You have my number,” wrote Moses Kuria.

The MP whose party, The People’s Empowerment Party has a candidate in the Juja by-election has been protesting of Government’s unfair treatment while campaign.

Kuria has in various occasions accused the Government of favoring the Jubilee candidate and harassing other candidates in the race for the Juja seat.

The seat fell vacant following the death of MP Francis Waititu who was popularly known as Wakapee.

YouTuber Kabi wa Jesus has removed a video of himself and his wife denying that Abby is his daughter, shortly after announcing that DNA test proved he is the biological father.

The video was uploaded in January, a few days after he was exposed for neglecting the daughter he sired with his cousin.

A quick check by Pulse Live disclosed that the video has now been made private and does not exist in the WaJesus YouTube Channel.

In the video, Kabi refuted claims that he has neglected his child, insisting that the kid in question was actually his Niece, and the lady said to be his wife, was a cousin. He went on to castigate people who were propagating the ‘fake’ story, saying they were out to tarnish his name.

On Thursday, however, Kabi in a statement admitted that he sired the child (Abby) with his cousin, something that was confirmed by a paternity test that was done recently.

“Hey Guys and praise Jesus, some of you might be aware of the matter involving me regarding baby Abby. I wish to confirm that Yesterday paternity results were issued that confirmed that I am the biological father of the child. The results confirm that, in 2013 (which was before I got born again and married), I sired Abby.” read part of his statement.

Pulse understands that shortly before removing the video from YouTube, Kabi who initially captioned the video as “Who is Abby? The Wajesus Family” changed it to “The Wajesus Family” before deleting it.

Media Personality Kalekye Mumo has disclosed that her mother once warned her against marrying men from the Western Kenya region.

The former Radio and TV presenter, who was talking about the issue of stereotypes said that her mother insisted she’d better marry someone of Indian descent but not men from the two communities because they are different and no one understands what they speak.

According to Kalekye, this left her with the thought of having to ask where someone is from because of what she was told by her mother when she was you.

She added that each time she asked why not, the response she got was that even her mother was told not to marry from those communities by her grandmother.

Rarieda MP, Otiende Amollo has insisted that his removal from the National Assembly’s Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) as Vice Chairperson, has nothing to do with the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Bill.

Speaking on Thursday, the MP said parliament and political parties are free to remove a member from any committee whenever they feel the person is not performing his duties as expected.

He went on to say that ODM gave him the opportunity to serve, but a few individuals decided to have him removed and he is okay with the move.

The legislator added that he has no issue with his party leader Raila Odinga and that he has fully supported the BBI all along, while he served as Vice Chair of JLAC.

This is not about the BBI and said here last week because if it was, it would be a different narrative. I do not have an issue with my party leader,” said Otiende Amollo.

His remarks come two days after he was <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/odm-replaces-rarieda-mp-otiende-amollo-in-key-parliamentary-committee/zrj0536">removed from the JLAC and replaced with Ruaraka MP, T.J Kajwang</a>.

The JLAC is the committee which deliberated the Constitution Amendment (Bill), 2020 which is popularly known as the BBI Bill.

Kenyan YouTuber, Kabi wa Jesus has finally admitted that he sired a child with his cousin, months after denying and insisting that the kid was his niece.

In a statement, Kabi said that DNA results confirmed he is the father of child named Abby and it all happened before he was born again and was even married.

He went on to state that the interest of the child will come first and he will reach out to the mother and work out a way forward and that he takes full responsibility for his actions.

Others who scooped awards during the AJEA 2021 were KTN New's Timothy Otieno who won the Journalist of the year award in the TV category while Mwilu won the Covid-19 reporting award alongside Nelson Aruya.

NTV's Dennis Okari won the Health Reporting Award for his&nbsp;Red Alert&nbsp;feature in 2019. Other journalists who won awards include; Mercy Tyra, Daniel Kaburu, Ruth Keah, Yahya Mohammed and Maurice Oniang'o among others.

Fast rising star, B Classic has once again announced his presence in the Kenyan music scene by giving his fans a double treat, with his latest two new songs.

The Ministry of Heath has announced that the Covid-19 variant from India has been detected in Kenya.

According to Health Director General, Dr. Patrick Amoth, the five cases of the Indian variant were detected upon arrival into the country.

He noted that the cases were detected on Thursday last week, before the ban on flights to and from India was announced.

The cases were reported in Kisumu where the five Indian nationals are working on a fertilizer plant.

"We picked this from Indian travelers who are doing some work in the western part of Kisumu. We have gone ahead together with the Kisumu County health team to do contact tracing," stated Dr Amoth.

The EMB boss shared a teaser of Seed’s video saying that his first brother has a new song, and his fans should go watch the song on YouTube and push it to the top of the trending chat.
