Former afro-soul singer Cece Sagini got hitched to her photographer husband Victor Peace late last year.
The couple said ‘I do’ in a lavish ceremony attended by close family and friends almost two years after they broke the internet with their live television proposal.
Their wedding wasn’t the only thing they decided to take their time on as Cece exclusively revealed to Pulselive.co.ke that the couple chose to stay celibate up until their marriage.
“By the time we met, we knew that we weren’t playing and we knew how serious we took our relationship so how about we don’t mess up this thing by going in that direction,” she said.
Cece attributed their different individual experiences with previous relationships and their faith as one of the main reasons behind them deciding to wait.
Terming it as secondary celibacy, the Gospel artist described the couples’ celibacy journey as ‘really nice’ further urging people not to succumb to the misinterpreted hype around celibacy.
“There is a greatness in the anticipation. I know a lot of people usually ask ‘What if the sex is not good? Will you go back home? But if you are married you guys fix it up,” she said before sneaking in the fact that her sex life is good.
Cece recently released her first Gospel song since ditching secular music called Come Down.
