Kenya's Covid-19 case load now stands at 52,612 after 761 more people were confirmed to be positive.

The new cases were detected after testing 4,830 samples over the last 24 hours bringing total cumulative tests conducted in the country to 678,000.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe further confirmed that 14 more patients had succumbed to the disease bringing total fatalities to 964.

The CS also announced that the Ministry of Health had resolved to have the home-based care programme as the primary mode of care for Covid-19 patients.

He also announced that anyone found not wearing a mask in public will be fined.
