On Tuesday, 15th January, at around 3.15 pm, Nairobi was hit by a terror attack at 14 Riverside, which hosts popular upscale hotel Dusit D2 and several offices. According to the latest police reports, all the terrorists were neutralized after a joined effort by security officials.
President Uhuru Kenyatta confirmed that 14 people were killed during the attack and 700 people rescued.
“The security operation at Dusit complex is over and all the terrorists eliminated. We have confirmation that 14 innocent lives were lost through the hands of these murderous terrorists” said Kenyatta.
He added that security forces will pursue those who were involved in planning, funding and execution of the heinous act.

While the attack was going on, many Kenyans came together in solidarity to give support to the police, journalists and everyone else who was involved in the rescue mission in one way or another.
Kenyans on Twitter in particular were up in arms sharing necessary information to those trapped in the offices, calling out fake news mongers and even journalists sharing images that were insensitive.
